Why Rent This Car?

Why Rent the Perodua Myvi 2016?

Known as the “King of the Road” in Malaysia, the Myvi 2016 remains a top favorite for travelers who want more power and cabin space without paying high rental prices.

For just RM10 more per day than an Axia, you get a 1.3L engine that handles highway driving and hills with confidence. It is the ideal choice if you plan to drive outside Kuching city limits (like to Serian or Bau) or if you have taller passengers who need extra legroom in the back.

Q1: This is a 2016 model. Is the car still in good condition?

Yes. At Alpha Car Rental, we pride ourselves on maintenance. Our Myvi fleet is inspected weekly to ensure the air-conditioning is freezing cold, the tires are safe, and the engine runs smoothly. You get the reliability of a Myvi at a budget-friendly price.

Q2: Is the Myvi better than the Axia for hills?

Definitely. The Myvi has a 1.3L engine (vs the Axia’s 1.0L). If you plan to drive up to Borneo Highlands, Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, or carrying a full load of 4 adults, the Myvi will offer a much more effortless and comfortable drive.

Q3: How is the luggage space compared to the Axia?

The Myvi has a slightly shallower boot (208 Liters) compared to the Axia, but it has split-folding rear seats.

  • With passengers: Fits 2 cabin bags + backpacks.
  • With rear seats down: Massive space for large cargo.
  • Note: If you prioritize passenger legroom over luggage space, choose the Myvi. If you have huge suitcases but small passengers, the Axia might surprisingly fit better.

Q4: Can I drive this car to Miri or Sibu?

Yes, the Myvi is very capable of long-distance driving. Outstation surcharges apply:

  • Sibu / Sarikei: RM300 Fee
  • Miri: RM600 Fee
  • Sri Aman / Betong: RM100–RM150 Fee

Q5: What is the fuel consumption like?

A: The Myvi 1.3L is fuel-efficient (approx. 15-17km/L), though slightly higher than the Axia. The trade-off is that you get significantly more power and stability on the highway.
